Telegraph Media Group Limited (00451593) and Press Acquisitions Limited (05098596), the company that has been Telegraph Media Group’s person with significant control on the Companies House register since 13 July 2023, each passed resolutions to wind up voluntarily on 16 October 2026 and appointed the FTI Consulting partners Ali Abbas Khaki (IP 25690) and Lisa Jane Rickelton (IP 10594) as joint liquidators. The London Gazette published the family of notices on 29 October 2026.
The process is a members’ voluntary liquidation, the solvent wind-up route under the Insolvency Act 1986, and the register supports that reading. Both companies filed solvency statements dated 29 June 2026, resolved to reduce their issued share capital on 30 June 2026, consolidated their boards to a single director, Dominic Cosmas Samson Young, between 30 June and 1 July 2026, and satisfied their outstanding charges in full on 6 July 2026. The pattern reads as a solvent post-sale wind-down rather than a distressed process.
Press Acquisitions Limited is the vehicle behind the Telegraph’s 2023 takeover: it was incorporated in 2004 as a single-member shelf company and renamed for the acquisition, and the register shows it taking over as TMG’s person with significant control on 13 July 2023. Press reporting attributes the takeover to the RedBird IMI venture, which took control of the Telegraph titles in December 2023, and Axel Springer’s £575m takeover of the Telegraph completed on 30 June 2026, the same week the wind-down filings above were made.
The liquidation covers these two entities only. Other Telegraph group companies remain active on the Companies House register, including The Sunday Telegraph Limited (00667848), Telegraph Financial Solutions Limited (11216403), Telegraph Events Limited (06916747) and Telegraph Publishing Limited (01984132).
